3 killed in attacks on church & synagogues in Russia’s Dagestan province
At least three persons were killed in attacks on a Christian church and two Jewish synagogues in Russia’s Dagestan province, according to Russian state media.
There were two separate attacks in the Dagestan’s province’s Makhachkala and Derbent cities.
The state-run RT reported that a church and synagogue were set afire in Derbent and another synagogue was set afire in Makhachkala. It further said the dead included two police personnel and a civilian.
The attackers set the church and synagogues afire after exchanging fire with the police, said the report.
While RT did not name the synagogues attacked, it said the church attacked was Russian Orthodox Church Holiday – Holy Trinity.
The outlet shared the purported visuals of the site. It showed smoke bellowing from a building and gunshots could also be heard towards the end of the video.
